Internal Communications
Since 2020, I’ve served as the primary communicator for the design department—sharing updates, implementing process changes, and leading cross-functional trainings and designer onboarding. I’ve also partnered with the executive team to craft presentations for monthly all-hands meetings and helped lead internal recognition efforts through company-wide awards programs.
Project Management
I’ve been managing projects throughout my career, often without labeling it as such. At a daily newspaper, I oversaw the entire Features section—curating content, writing, designing pages, and planning ahead. As I progressed to larger publications and eventually led the design team for 14 Houston-area papers, each issue is a monthly project under my guidance. As a manager, I also initiated and led quarterly projects to improve business outcomes and departmental efficiency.
Graphic Design
Though I initially aspired to be a reporter, my passion for design began when I was asked to learn InDesign as Editor-in-Chief of my high school newspaper. That summer sparked a lifelong love of print and visual storytelling. Since then, I’ve led five newspaper redesigns—two at professional publications—developing cohesive design systems adaptable across multiple sections. I bring 7 years of experience creating complex data visualizations and 5 years editing infographics for clarity, accuracy, and quality.
